Designed and installed a value-engineered cantilevered support-of-excavation system for the installation of new foundations and mechanical tunnels for Queens Hospital Emergency Room expansion. Our value-engineered system utilized 77 each, driven HP Beams in lieu of drilling of casings. Vibration monitoring was performed during soldier beam driving and no adverse vibrations were noted to the existing structure. The hospital was able to operate at its normal capacity during soldier beam installation. The installed system cut the SOE installation time by more than 50% (77 beams installed in 3- 8 hour days) all performed under a prevailing wage contract.
